Ekiti: Gov. Fayose shocks civil servants; scraps 10 ministries

A yet to be officially confirmed report from Ekiti State suggested that Governor Ayodele Pater Fayose has reduced the government Ministries from 24 to 14.
According to the report, the Governor Fayose-led government claimed the reasons for reduction of the ministries from 24 to 14 is due to the financial capability of the state. It said the government can't finance the existing ministries. The numbers of the Permanent Secretaries and the Directors will be reduced, and it will also affects holder of other principal positions.
According to our source, the civil servants were very shocked at the development. When they (the civil servants) got hold of this information, especially the executive cadre, most of them were not happy about the development. Some of them who pleaded anonymity said, this ought not to be their first gift from the new government in the state with the level of their supports during the past election. They argue further that since the out gone government can financed those ministries, they see no reason why the new government should not continue with it.
When some of them were contacted about about the development, they refused to give a comment because of the consequence might attract what they described as unpleasant consequences
