MY VIEW ON ASUU STRIKE

The indefinite academic staff union of universities strike hit us hard in our school like thieves at night. The strike which starts as a joke became reality when on that fateful friday in class, we were asked to vacate the school premises because the strike as just began officially according to a statement from the national president.
The issues partaking to the strike which as been a fierce battle of might and wilt between the lecturers and government since 2009 during the tenure of the late president musa yar adua resurfaces thereby marking the beginning of the month long strike. The lecturers are vicious in there attack of the government, saying they are unfaithful concerning the issue. The government on there own part are clamouring for a renegociation and amendment to some part of the 2009 agreement which it claims was signed by the previous administration..The lecturers on there part are miffed about the issue saying they wont call off the strike until all there demands are fully met.
But in view of all this new developments,i must ask my readers, must the students suffer because of the nonchallant attitude of government to education?education suppose to be a free and convenient for students but the reverse is the case in the country. Our so called oga at the top sitting on seats of power are watching the unfolding events ,but i wonder when the bad trend will end.
Ghana as an example,as some greater percent of allocation voted for education while our so called giant of africa inputs meagre amount of money into the sector preferring to grant amnesty to the invicible terrorists,or rather divert the money into there own pockets.
The most painful thing is that there so called children are studying abroad living the life of royalty.how many of the leaders can allow there ward to school here in the country and will will be boasting that the sector is improving.
I must say this, nigerian students are tired of hearing or seeing mere plonkerous unguided words on pages of newspapers,we need total action ,we are tired of empty promises,we need good jobs not early child marriage.Am appealing to the federal governments to grant the lecturers there demands without time wasting because our future is at stake with the strike. The time for the lecturers to get it right is now or never and am sure nigerians are eagerly waiting for the outcome.
