Senators and members of the House of Representatives had commenced collecting signatures for the removal of the president after the November 20 security siege on the National Assembly. During the siege, the speaker of the House Aminu Waziri Tambuwal and other lawmakers were teargased by the police. House members began collecting signatures that same day while senators followed suit two days after. And already, 200 members and about 60 senators were said to have thrown their weight behind moves to oust the president. EKSG Plans to Regularize Recruitment of EKSTMA Officers

Ekiti State Government has directed officers of the Ekiti State Traffic Management Agency, EKSTMA, who are still interested in the job to reapply for fresh appointment as from 1st December 2014 to enable it correct the anomaly in the recruitment process. The state governor, Dr. Ayodele Fayose gave the directive at a meeting he held with the men and officers of the Agency in Ado-Ekiti. The governor, who was represented by his deputy, Dr. Kolapo Olusola, condemned in strong terms the process of recruitment put in place by the previous administration, where officers were merely engaged without letters of appointment or concrete step to fix them into the civil service system. Dr. Fayose said that his government considered the services rendered by EKSTMA as very relevant going by their contributions to safety and traffic management in Ekiti State, particularly in Ado, the state capital as well as their contribution to the state IGR. Gunmen Go On Rampage In Rivers, APC Chieftain Killed

Gunmen thought to be cultists have attacked and killed a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Godspower Ayodu and six more people in Omoku, headquarters of Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area of Rivers State. The chairman of Ogba Local Government Council, Augustine Ahiamadu in a phone interview with journalists, explained that the town is still in shock as the murderers had moved from home to home, killing innocent civilians. He said that the gunmen were shooting sporadically in Omoku, he said that the incident was a disaster and called for other security agents to get hold of the matter. Students should generate and print their payment invoice indicating the details of their payment,which they are to present at any of the designated banks to enable them pay the indicated fees. 3. After payment at the bank,students are to return to the university portal to print their receipts(tuition receipt and other charges receipt). 4. Facebook Fraud: EKSU VC Has No Facebook Account

The attention of the Management of Ekiti State University (EKSU) has been drawn to an impostor using the name of the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Patrick Oladipo Aina on social media, Face Book. The fraudulent personality created a Facebook account using one of the official photographs of the Vice-Chancellor and supplied incorrect information about Professor Oladipo Aina to mislead the public. The fake Facebook account has already attracted a long list of friends who might be deceived with the impression that they are dealing with the authentic Vice-Chancellor of EKSU, Professor Oladipo Aina. FG Orders Military To Flush Out Boko Haram In Mubi, Vimtim

After about three weeks of focusing on a purported ceasefire deal and negotiations with the Boko Haram sect, the federal government has given the military a marching order to flush out insurgents who have been in control of Mubi and Vimtim for the past seven days. The military had since deployed more attack helicopter gunships and surveillance aircraft, with the new General Officer Commanding 3 Division of the Nigerian Army, Major General FO Alli said to have moved to Yola so as to be closer to the operation. FG's order came following intelligence reports that the new upsurge in Boko Haram attacks may have been influenced by political motives to ensure that political activities do not take place in the North East zone of the country, reports Vanguard, adding that the government had also given the new GOC and the commander of the Nigeria Air Force Strike Group in Yola a time frame during which they are expected to have driven the insurgents out.
